Directions to Cantsfield House
This is how to find us. There is a map at the bottom of
this page to help you orientate yourself.
By rail. We are about 11 miles from Lancaster
which is on the West Coast Main Line (three hours from Euston if Virgin are
doing their stuff) with lots of taxis. There are several trains each day
from Lancaster to Leeds which stop at Wennington station which is two miles away
(no taxis!!)
By road from the north. Leave the M6 at J36 and
take the A65 towards Skipton. After about six miles, and after bypassing
Kirkby Lonsdale, cross the River Lune (Devil's Bridge on the left) and after a
few hundred yards turn right on the A683 towards Lancaster. Follow this
road for about three miles, passing through Burrow and Tunstall, then turn left
on the A687 (just before the A683 turns sharp right and crosses the River
Greta). Cantsfield is less than a mile along this road, and Cantsfield
House is on the right just before the village notice board and post box (also on
the right).
By road from the south. Leave the M6 at J34 and
take the A683 towards Kirkby Lonsdale (away from Lancaster). Pass through
Caton, Claughton, Hornby, Melling. About one mile past Melling, turn sharp
right on the A687 signposted Cantsfield - this is immediately after crossing the
River Greta). Cantsfield is less than a mile along this road, and
Cantsfield House is on the right just before the village notice board and post
box (also on the right).
By road from the east. Take the A65 from
Yorkshire and pass Skipton, Settle and Ingleton. A mile or so after
passing Ingleton turn left onto the A687 signposted Lancaster (this is
immediately after the Country Harvest shop/cafe). Follow this road through
Burton in Lonsdale to Cantsfield, and Cantsfield House is on the left
immediately after the village notice board and post box (also on the left) .
By road from Bolton-le-Sands (for MWAD). Go to
Carnforth, turn right at the traffic lights. Go through Over Kellet and
pass the Redwell Inn on the left. About a mile after this, pass a road to
Borwick on the left and about 50 yards further on turn right towards Gressingham.
Pass through Gressingham and cross the River Lune at Loyne Bridge. After
half a mile turn left onto the A683 towards Kirkby Lonsdale. About one
mile past Melling, turn sharp right on the A687 signposted Cantsfield - this is
immediately after crossing the River Greta). Cantsfield is less than a
mile along this road, and Cantsfield House is on the right just before the
village notice board and post box (also on the right). Does this help?
